Help with my modem quick 10 points for best answerrrr?!!?

ok every time i reset my modem the lights flash don't flash the same but it connects like say it takes 6 cable light blinks and 3 send and 7 recive light blinks to connect time time i reset it 2 cable light blinks 2 and 1 send and recive light blinks sometimes the reset is always the same by reset i mean unplug and plug back in to laptop or desktop pc you know i do not have a router there 80 bucks here im not spending that money if it was 50 i would say sure ight thanks sorry if it didint make sence
